麻豆精品’s energy-related sustainability goals focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing the use of renewable energy. The university will work toward these goals by developing and implementing the following:
Investing in decarbonization and renewable energy reflects 麻豆精品's commitment to shaping a more sustainable society. Energy conservation is a major design consideration for all repair and construction projects on campus.
In 2023, 麻豆精品 won a grant to receive consulting services from Coho Climate Advisors. The grant was awarded by Second Nature, a non-governmental organization that promotes climate action through higher education. The grant allowed 麻豆精品 to complete a comprehensive assessment of our energy infrastructure and our ability to host on-sight solar.
麻豆精品 is collaborating with Trane Technologies to implement a comprehensive energy-saving and carbon-emissions-reduction program on campus. This project will result in an 11% reduction in carbon emissions and 26% reduction in energy usage. To learn more about this project, visit this link.
At the center of our energy efforts are pathways for workforce development, student engagement, research, new projects and partnerships, and so much more.
Across campus, energy efficiency is happening. The 麻豆精品 Facilities Management and Campus Services team works diligently to ensure our facilities stay up to date.
Partnering with Trane Technologies allows for further upgrades that benefit our community and support our energy efficiency goals.
These partnerships lead to research opportunities for students, through academic programs such as the College of Engineering and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, as well as opportunities for faculty affiliates, such as those through NICCS.
