It's Time to Waive or Enroll in Our Student Insurance Program.
|
|
|
Students taking 9 or more credit hours are automatically billed $1,378.00 for student health insurance for fall 2024. You can find more information regarding the plan on our website. If you have comparable insurance and have not yet canceled the plan, the is now open until Sept. 30, 2024. This is an online process only. Once you complete the waiver, and it鈥檚 accepted the charge for insurance will be removed from your student account.

The waiver deadline is firm, therefore if you do not waive the student health insurance by Sept. 30, you will be enrolled for semester coverage under the plan, and no reimbursements will be given. Question can be emailed to studentinsurance@niu.edu.
Students taking less than 9 credit hours are not automatically enrolled in our student health insurance program. However, if eligible, you do have the opportunity to voluntarily enroll for coverage. The fall open enrollment period for our optional dental, vision, teledoc and health insurance plans administered by Benefit Partners Technology is open until Oct. 31, 2024. .

STEM Caf茅: Critical Minerals: The Hidden Materials Required for Green Energy.

Many of the technologies we need for green energy 鈥 such as advanced batteries and solar panels 鈥 are made from materials that exist in incredibly small proportions within the Earth. These critical metals and minerals are difficult to find, and often we know little about their processes of formation.

Come to our new weekly program, Wellness Wednesday Workshops, from 7 to 8 p.m. each Wednesday from Sept. 18 through Nov. 20! This is a weekly virtual wellbeing workshop series designed for you to gain wellbeing skills from wherever your schedule demands, held on Microsoft Teams.
