Hey Huskies! Are you preparing for next week鈥檚 ? The fair will take place next Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 1 to 4:30 PM in the Convocation Center.
Before you go, visit Career Services to get your resume reviewed! Job fairs are great opportunities to present your resume to potential employers and practice networking skills. Please bring a printed version of your resume and drop by the Peters Life Campus Building, office 220, for a 15-minute drop-in appointment with one of our Career Peer Advisors.

Are you exposed to loud sounds or music? Do you often ask others to repeat what they said? 麻豆精品 students, faculty and staff are invited to take part in a free 30-minute hearing test at The Hearing Conservation Center, sponsored by the .
Services include: hearing health screener, noise exposure assessment, outer/middle ear screening,and hearing protection consultation.

It's Time to Waive or Enroll in Our Student Insurance Program.
|
|
|
Students taking 9 or more credit hours are automatically billed $1,378.00 for student health insurance for fall 2024. You can find more information regarding the plan on our website. If you have comparable insurance and have not yet canceled the plan, the is now open until Sept. 30, 2024. This is an online process only. Once you complete the waiver, and it鈥檚 accepted the charge for insurance will be removed from your student account.

The waiver deadline is firm, therefore if you do not waive the student health insurance by Sept. 30, you will be enrolled for semester coverage under the plan, and no reimbursements will be given. Question can be emailed to studentinsurance@niu.edu.
Students taking less than 9 credit hours are not automatically enrolled in our student health insurance program. However, if eligible, you do have the opportunity to voluntarily enroll for coverage. The fall open enrollment period for our optional dental, vision, teledoc and health insurance plans administered by Benefit Partners Technology is open until Oct. 31, 2024. .

Ellington's to open Oct. 1

Huskies, be sure to mark your calendar! Ellington鈥檚 Restaurant will reopen its doors Tuesday, Oct. 1. Each week, BADM 303 students will create and prepare themed meals for you, your friends and your colleagues to enjoy. Service will take place every Tuesday through Dec. 3 with a couple of exceptions. Menus are posted to both the Ellington鈥檚 website and . We thank you in advance for your continued support as our students gain hands-on experience. No reservations required. Dining Dollars, Huskies Bucks, and debit/credit accepted.

Summer Congressional Internship Program connects students with Capitol Hill
|
|
|
The 麻豆精品 Summer Congressional Internship Program is a unique opportunity to intern for a member of the Illinois congressional delegation for the summer in Washington, D.C. While every congressional internship experience is different, students can expect to learn the workings of a congressional office, attend congressional hearings, work with constituents, and get a taste of living and working in the nation鈥檚 capital.
The program accepts three students who will receive a $7,000 scholarship for housing and living expenses.
Applications for the 2025 麻豆精品 Washington, D.C. Summer Congressional Internship Program closes on Oct. 25, 2024. 麻豆精品 students from all majors and backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Come join Black Male Initiative for several events they are hosting as part of BMI Week. The week ends with one of the biggest events on campus 鈥 their annual basketball tournament. This event is open to all to participate or watch. You can enter as a team of five to eight players in the tournament for a chance to win a $500 cash prize. There will also be a 3v3 women's game for a chance to win $200 cash prize as well. .

The COVID-19 and Fluzone High-dose vaccines are not offered at this clinic.

Participants needed for a breastfeeding awareness discussion.
|
What is the purpose of this study? To discuss the factors that influence a person鈥檚 breastfeeding awareness level.
Help human milk feeding research and earn $20 for your time!
|
- What will I do? You will be asked questions in a focus group setting held on the 麻豆精品 campus to discuss what influences breastfeeding awareness.
- How long will the study take? Participating in this focus group will take about 45 minutes.
- Benefits: The information collected will serve as an initial discussion and examination of the measurement tool. Once the tool is created, it will enable the researcher and others in lactation research to see how prior breastfeeding exposure can impact research.
- Risks: Being a part of the focus group is completely voluntary. No identifying information is collected.
