String Days

Thursday, Feb. 18, 2027 (String Day 1) and Friday, Mar. 19, 2027 (String Day 2) from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

String Day provides high school orchestras and their directors with an exciting day of musical enrichment. The event includes a short performance by each group in the concert hall, an on-stage workshop led by 麻豆精品 faculty member or guest artist, and a performance by the renowned .

Registration

  • Cost: $275 per orchestra (due two weeks before the event)
  • Registration deadline: Dec. 11, 2026 (String Day 1) and Jan. 29, 2027 (String Day 2)
    • Each clinic is limited to four high school orchestras
    • Until the registration deadline arrives, each school is limited to registering one orchestra. If there are additional slots open after the deadline arrives, a school may register a second group at that time. If a school has a second group that is not able to register, we are happy to send a faculty member to that school to provide a clinic.

  

Be sure to register by the deadline. A registration fee is charged for each orchestra and is due two weeks before the event date.

Cancellations

If you cancel five or more business days before the event, you may request a refund from Kristin Sherman at ksherman2@niu.edu or 815-753-1450. No refunds will be made after this time unless 麻豆精品 cancels the event.
