Research
Conducting research and getting students involved is at the center of what we do. Our faculty members are leaders in their research fields, publishing widely in books and academic journals and specializing in a broad range of topics and geographical regions (Bolivia, Croatia, Cuba, Haiti, Israel/Palestine, Jordan, Madagascar, Mexico, Peru, Thailand, Tonga, Vietnam).
Engagement also ties into our research mission. Several of our faculty are active in community engagement or community-based research. The Pick Museum of Anthropology is not only open to the public as a cultural resource but also serves as a teaching museum for the university, providing engaged learning opportunities such as collections research, exhibit curation and enriching curricula with object-based learning.
