Billing Date: Represents the day that the Bursar’s Office processes statements.

Student ID: An 8‐digit number that uniquely identifies each student in the My麻豆精品 system.

Due Date:  Date when the total in the Amount Due must be paid to avoid any penalties.

Amount Due: The current balance owed to the university.

Address: The address listed on billing statements is the student’s permanent address. However, if an alternative billing address has been set up with the Bursar’s Office, statements will include that address.

Currently enrolled students that would like to receive a printed statement in addition to their online, e-statement, please email bursar@niu.edu from your student Z-ID email and specify the address for the printed statement to be mailed. If you do not specify the address, the printed statements will be mailed to your permanent address unless a billing address is on file.

Last Truth-in-Tuition Term: Truth‐In‐Tuition is for Illinois residents enrolling for the first time at 麻豆精品 as degree‐seeking undergraduates. Students will be charged a fixed tuition rate for four continuous years beginning with their initial enrollment. The term displayed here represents the last term that the eligible student may receive this tuition rate.

Career: The student's educational level is displayed as Undergraduate, Graduate, or Law.

Residency: The student's residency for tuition assessment at 麻豆精品 is displayed as In State, Out of State, or Non-Domestic (international).

Prior Statement Amount: Reflects the ending balance owed on the student’s statement from the preceding billing date. Note: It does NOT include Pending Aid amounts.

Total Charges: Reflects the sum of any prior statement amount plus any new charges. Typical student charge activity may include tuition & fees, housing, insurance, and books. Although the Bursar’s Office can assist in answering some charge‐related questions, the student should direct inquiries to the office or department that originated the charge.  See Directory of Statement Charges.

Total Credits: Reflects the sum of any newly posted personal payments, third party sponsorships, waivers, adjustments, and/or disbursed financial aid items.

Total Pending Aid: Estimation of any current‐term financial aid awaiting disbursement. Pending aid will apply against the total charges to lower the overall Amount Due in anticipation that the aid will disburse “in‐full” at a later date.

The financial aid reflected on a bill prior to the start of a semester is based on assumed enrollment. Generally, aid is based on a full-time enrollment unless the student has requested a part-time award. Financial aid is adjusted to match actual enrollment when enrollment is official at the end of add/drop each semester. Contact the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office to request a part-time award.

Review "Students' Rights and Responsibilities" and "Terms and Conditions" under Disclosures at www.niu.edu/financial-aid for information about financial aid programs, eligibility requirements, and frequently asked questions. Dropping or withdrawing from courses, as well as non-attendance of courses, can result in the loss of financial aid. The State of Illinois Monetary Award (MAP Grant) eligibility is determined and announced by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission and is subject to State funding.

Pending Aid Message: Students with pending financial aid on their statement are reminded that their amount due includes aid that has not been applied yet. They should review their Tasks tile in My麻豆精品 to ensure no outstanding items will prevent their aid from disbursing.

Offered Aid Message: Student with offered Federal Direct Loans are reminded that they have aid available that may help reduce their account balance. If they wish to accept, they can log in to My麻豆精品 account to do so.

Huskie Installment Payment Plan (HIP) Schedule: The HIP plan in as optional payment plan offered for the fall and spring semesters. The statement displays sets of 3 or 4 calculated installment amounts owed to the university with the associated due dates.
