The Center for Black Studies (CBS) is committed to the success of 麻豆精品 students and offers a range of mentoring and other programs. While our programs center on and examine the needs and experiences of those whose identities include being members of Black and African American communities, all are welcome to participate.

Continuing the work we’ve performed for decades, the center provides a multifaceted approach to student success. We strive to advance the university’s mission by offering mentoring, academic support and career exploration resources and services, in addition to the John Henrik Clarke Honor Society and cultural events and heritage programs that support the entire 麻豆精品 community.

Mentoring Programs

• The Black Student Achievement Program (BSAP) focuses on supporting the success of first-year and transfer students as they transition to college life.
• The Black Male Initiative (BMI) is a student-led organization that provides leadership and development opportunities to its members.
• The African American Mentor Program (AAMP) enables 麻豆精品 students to provide mentoring to local middle and high school students.
