A communicative disorders degree is your first step to becoming an audiologist, rehabilitation counselor or speech-language pathologist. The knowledge you gain about speech, language and hearing development will prepare you for the graduate study needed for these professions. Or, you can choose to begin a rewarding career in human services, education or another health care field.
I majored in communicative disorders with a minor in deafness. I decided on this course of study because I love helping people and want to give everyone the tools they need to express themselves. Growing up, I always had an interest in learning American Sign Language. In addition to Spanish, I hope to use my ASL skills to connect with and help even more people.”
