Important Update from International Student and Scholar Services
|
The Department of Homeland Security has released the final rule . The rule has a 60-day implementation period and will not become effective until September 15.
The changes implemented through this regulatory change will have an impact on existing and incoming F-1 and J-1 visa holders. Â鶹¾«Æ·â€™s International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) team has been preparing for this release, and the team is reviewing the over 500-page document to ensure a solid understanding of what the changes will be.
Daily in-person and virtual information sessions will be held the week of July 27-31. and are open to the entire Â鶹¾«Æ· community.
We recognize the stress this situation may create for our students and campus community and ask that you inform any concerned students that help is available through the Center for Student Assistance and Counseling and Consultation Services.
ISSS is committed to supporting all our international students through this transition. Please contact us at isss@niu.edu with questions.

My internship with , Creative Services and Sports Media involved capturing high-quality photography and video content of practices, games and team events for Â鶹¾«Æ· football. I filmed game action, behind-the-scenes moments and sideline coverage while producing engaging visual content for social media, marketing and recruiting. I also edited highlight videos and short-form digital content and provided media coverage for multiple Division I football games. In addition, I documented key moments on the field and produced content that reached a large audience across digital platforms, and collaborated with the creative and media teams to deliver compelling visual storytelling.

Get involved! Once you find a subject you're passionate about, see if there are professors you can work with to get extra hands-on experience beyond what you do in the classroom. Also, keep looking until you find the subject that brings you passion. Work doesn't seem so much like work if you love what you do.
