麻豆精品 Alumni Association offering grants.

Every 麻豆精品 office, student organization and program creates value through their impressive work and impact, and the 麻豆精品 Alumni Association (麻豆精品AA) recognizes that.

The 麻豆精品 Alumni Association recently was awarded a grant that will help showcase 麻豆精品鈥檚 important work to the community, and we invite all student organizations, divisions, centers and groups to apply.

Through this grant, you鈥檒l have the chance to extend your reach exponentially in September.

The 麻豆精品AA is offering the opportunity for 麻豆精品 programs to secure tent space (including table and chairs) in Mission鈥檚 Grove prior to our Sept. 23 football game against Tulsa (time TBD). Mission鈥檚 Grove made its debut last year, and it was quite popular among our alumni, family and friends as we averaged over 300 people per game in our inaugural season.

The 麻豆精品AA wants these same people (and more) to engage with your group directly so you can spread the word of your group, division or center. Those interested in participating must by Aug. 15, 2023. Decisions announced by the week of Aug. 28.

Have you purchased your parking permit?

Parking permits for the next academic year (2023-2024) are now . Parking permits are virtual, so you will not receive a physical permit. Your license plate will act as your parking permit.

Our provides convenient access to your parking account information. You can view your account, purchase a parking permit, make a ticket payment and update vehicle information.

A free parking option is also available. Those who take advantage of this option have a virtual green permit which allows for remote parking in Lot K on the west side of campus, just off Lincoln Highway.

For those only needing temporary parking, there are short-term parking options available. Short-term permits can be purchased online, and options include daily, weekly and monthly permits. Short-term parking is also available at pay stations and via the AMP Park mobile app.

Parking lot changes for 2023-2024

Parking Services is making parking lot designation changes this summer after assessing utilization surveys from this past academic year. Since parking demand has changed due to remote working patterns and hybrid/online courses, these lot designation changes are anticipated to improve utilization and convenience for all parking patrons. Policy Library update 鈥� revised policies

Revised policies are open to review and comment for a 30-day period. This provides our 麻豆精品 community the opportunity to consider and respond to the revised policies before they take effect. The revised policies are:

Sexual Misconduct Policy and Complaint Procedures: Comments due Aug. 11.
Asbestos Management Plan: Comments due Aug. 19.

To submit a comment, go to our policy library website. Click on 鈥淐omment on New/Renew Policies.鈥� You鈥檒l be able to review the policies and provide your comments. If you have any questions, please contact the university policy librarian at policy-library@niu.edu.

Applications for Balanced Man Scholarship now being accepted.

The Balanced Man Scholarship rewards up to $3,000 to students who have shown academic excellence, leadership skills, and a commitment to their health and well-being. At our SigEp Illinois Epsilon Chapter at 麻豆精品, we believe that recognizing students who demonstrate balance and all-around excellence is one way to promote this important idea. We鈥檙e committed to helping our members develop the skills they need to succeed in the classroom, future careers and everyday life.

The deadline to apply for the scholarship is Sept. 15, 2023. Eligibility requirements:

Male-identifying, full-time student.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Commitment to academic success.
No requirement to join our fraternity.

Jump start your career with UNIV 301.

If you鈥檙e looking to get ready for your career or graduate school, consider taking UNIV 301: Braven Leadership and Career Accelerator, a 3-credit elective course taught by Leadership Coaches working in a variety of industries. As mentors, they provide you with valuable feedback and insights, so you鈥檙e better prepared for your future after 麻豆精品.

Nearly 400 Huskies have already completed UNIV 301 since it first launched in Fall 2022. Talk to your advisor and enroll for Fall 2023 via during registration. Learn more about UNIV 301.

Interested in the ROTC?
The Army at 麻豆精品 is designed to give you experience in organizing, motivating and leading others 鈥� all while completing a bachelor鈥檚 or master鈥檚 degree of your choice.

If you have two years remaining on the path to finishing your degree, you鈥檙e eligible to take part in our summer Basic Camp. If you鈥檙e not sure about ROTC, attending is the perfect way to experience our program without making a commitment of service.

What is Basic Camp?

Basic Camp is designed to introduce you to the Army 鈥� an opportunity to experience the ROTC program without signing up.
This 32-day event is held at Fort Knox, a United States Army training base located in Kentucky.
You鈥檒l learn leadership skills while earning credits that are applied toward your 麻豆精品 graduation requirements.
You鈥檒l develop the critical thinking skills necessary to succeed in life, ROTC and ultimately the Army.

"Founders Memorial Library would be my favorite place on campus; it is a great place to relax and focus on tasks. While most sites at 麻豆精品 are busy and constantly moving, the library is calm.
