Save the date for Interfraternity Council Tugs: April 17-22, 2023

Tugs is an annual spring competition hosted by IFC that is similar to tug of war. With over half-a-century history, 麻豆精品's version of tugs differs from traditional tug-of-war competitions in that each individual team member stands in a "trench." The trenches allow each tugger on the team to obtain leverage and coordinate strategic moves.

 

Tugs is more than an annual competition. This philanthrophic event raises and donates money to an organization every year.

Class registration begins this week.

Summer and Fall 2023 class registration begins today, April 3. 

Now is the time to start preparing to register for summer and fall 2023 classes. Read the tips below and learn when to register and how to register for classes. 

Log in to My麻豆精品 and Navigate Student.

• In , you can check your enrollment date鈥攖he date and time you are able to register for classes. 
• In , you can see a list of important, time-sensitive To-Do items related to class registration. You can also schedule an appointment with your academic advisor through Navigate Student by click on Appointments and selecting the "Advising" service. 
• In both My麻豆精品 and Navigate Student, you can see any holds on your account that may prevent you from registering for classes. Learn more about holds on student accounts. 

Jump start your career with UNIV 301.

Registration begins April 3. If you鈥檙e looking to get ready for your career or graduate school, consider taking UNIV 301: Braven Leadership and Career Accelerator, a 3-credit elective course taught by Leadership Coaches working in a variety of industries. As mentors, they provide you with valuable feedback and insights, so you鈥檙e better prepared for your future after 麻豆精品. 

 

Nearly 400 Huskies have already completed UNIV 301 since it first launched in Fall 2022. Talk to your advisor and enroll for Fall 2023 via  during registration. Other benefits of the course include:

• Small class size. You鈥檒l be on a team with 5-8 other Huskies from a variety of majors.
• Completely online and once-a-week. You鈥檒l meet with your Leadership Coach and teammates once a week online either Tuesday or Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
• Career exploration and preparation. You鈥檒l develop a professional portfolio, including strong interview skills, a competitive resume and a professional Linked In profile.
• Hands-on learning with leading companies. You鈥檒l work with your teammates on creating solutions for real companies and real clients in Chicagoland and beyond.
• Long-lasting support. Once you complete the Braven Accelerator course you鈥檒l be paired with a mentor who will continue to support you throughout your academic and professional career planning.

Have an idea for a Homecoming event? Apply for a Homecoming Grant!

Do you have an idea for a homecoming event that you would like to see on campus, or want to enhance an existing homecoming event? The Homecoming Executive Committee invites all students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members to submit formal proposals for review! Proposals will be selected, and awarded up to $500 each, based on need and available funding. The deadline for submissions is April 14, 2023.

Celebrating Earth Month with Meatless Mondays

Huskies, join us in celebrating Earth Month with Meatless Mondays. Every Monday throughout the month of April, and will alternate serving plant-based options from the traditional line during both service. Together, we can work toward a more sustainable future.

 

Registration is now open for Summer in the Arts 2023!

Campers will live the life of an artist on campus at 麻豆精品 this summer exploring creativity, building community, meeting mentors and making lifelong friends.

• Jazz Camp and Theatre Arts Camp are scheduled July 9-14. 
• Visual Arts Camp is scheduled July 16-21.
• Percussion Camp is scheduled July 17-21. 

Fine arts summer camps at 麻豆精品 fill quickly 鈥� early registration is advised. 麻豆精品 staff, faculty, students and returning campers receive a camp fee discount, and 鈥渆arly bird鈥� registrants save an additional $50.
