Financial aid offers for the 2024-25 academic year.
If you will be enrolled at 麻豆精品 for the 2024-25 academic year and listed 麻豆精品 as your school on your 2024-25 FAFSA, you will receive an email from 麻豆精品鈥檚 Financial Aid and Scholarship Office when your FAFSA is received. If additional information is needed to process your financial aid application, you鈥檒l be notified via email, and information about what you need to provide will be posted to your My麻豆精品 To Do List.
We anticipate posting financial aid offers to My麻豆精品 for undergraduate students returning for the 2024-25 academic year beginning in mid-May and in late May for graduate and law students. If you have any questions, please email finaid@niu.edu.

It鈥檚 time to file your 2024-25 FAFSA.
Students who want to be considered for financial aid for the 2024-25 academic year and who have not yet completed the should do so as soon as possible. The FAFSA is your official application for financial aid at 麻豆精品, and we need it to create your financial aid offer. For those students not eligible for federal aid, you may be eligible for state aid by completing the . If you need help completing your FAFSA or the Illinois Alternative Application, please reach out to the 麻豆精品 Financial Aid and Scholarship Office.

Remember to take your Health and Wellness Survey
Hey Huskies! Help us shape a healthier 麻豆精品 by sharing your thoughts in the Health & Wellness Survey (NCHA). Check your ZID email for the survey link. Survey open until April 28, 2024.
Students who complete the survey will be entered to win prizes weekly. The prize for this week is a Fire Stick. Grand Prizes: Keurig, Beats Headphones or a $100 prize added to your bursar account.

Policy Library update 鈥� new policy
A new policy is open to review and comment for a 30-day period. This provides our 麻豆精品 community the opportunity to consider and respond to the new policy before it takes effect. The new policy is:
- Extra and Supplemental Compensation by May 17.

Presidential Commissions now accepting new members.
The seeks nominations for individuals to serve on the . These commissions play a critical role in advising the President and provide an opportunity to engage the relevant expertise and multiple perspectives of faculty, students and staff to promote problem solving, innovation and change in pursuit of 麻豆精品鈥檚 mission, vision and values. The commissions support the university鈥檚 commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible Huskie community where individuals feel welcome and experience a profound sense of belonging. Accordingly, we seek nominations for individuals with interests, experiences, or expertise related to the commissions鈥� work to enrich their efforts and ensure that their recommendations reflect the diverse viewpoints of the Huskie community.
To nominate someone or self-nominate, please complete the , which seeks general information and a brief statement of interest by Friday, May 17, 2024. The Commission review panel will evaluate all nominations, and the nominees will receive an email notification before the fall semester starts.

The Conference on Undergraduate Research and Engagement (CURE) provides 麻豆精品 Undergraduate students from all colleges with the opportunity to showcase their research, artistry or engagement projects they are completing or have completed as part of a capstone or senior project, community engagement project or course, independent study or funded research and artistry program through posters and exhibits for a chance to place in their respective award category.
This year's event will be held in person at the Holmes Student Center on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

Class registration is open.
Prepare now to get the classes you need.
Now is the time to start preparing to register for summer and fall 2024 classes. While registration opens on April 1, your registration date may vary based upon the number of credits you have earned. Read the tips below and learn when to register and how to register for classes.
1. If you have not met with your advisor, do so. They are here to help you.
- It鈥檚 important to stay on track to graduation and your advisor is here to help ensure you are heading in the right direction.
- Remote advising is available. Options for remote advising could include virtual video conferences, phone calls, 麻豆精品 emails or IM chats. Schedule an advising appointment through by clicking Appointments and selecting the "Advising" service, or contact your academic advising office to learn more about your options.
- Come prepared to your meeting with any concerns that you have. Your advisor can help answer your questions and point you to available resources.
2. Log in to My麻豆精品 and Navigate Student.
- In , you can check your enrollment date鈥攖he date and time you are able to register for classes.
- In Navigate Student, you can see a list of important, time-sensitive To-Do items related to class registration. You can also schedule an appointment with your academic advisor through Navigate Student by click on Appointments and selecting the "Advising" service.
- In both My麻豆精品 and Navigate Student, you can see any holds on your account that may prevent you from registering for classes. Learn more about holds on student accounts.

Move Forward Faster with UNIV 301
Fall 2024 Registration begins April 1. If you鈥檙e looking to get ready for your career or graduate school, consider taking UNIV 301: Braven Leadership and Career Accelerator, a 3-credit elective course taught by Leadership Coaches working in a variety of industries. As mentors, they provide you with valuable feedback and insights, so you鈥檙e better prepared for your future after 麻豆精品.
Nearly 800 Huskies have enrolled in UNIV 301 since it first launched in Fall 2022 and the course will be offered in three sections in the fall. Talk to your advisor and enroll for Fall 2024 via My麻豆精品 during registration.
Benefits of the course include:
- Small class size. You鈥檒l be on a team with 5-8 other Huskies from a variety of majors.
- Completely online and once-a-week. You鈥檒l meet with your Leadership Coach and teammates once a week online either Tuesdays from 2-4 p.m. or 5:30-7:30 p.m. or Wednesdays from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
- Career exploration and preparation. You鈥檒l develop a professional portfolio, including strong interview skills, a competitive resume and a professional Linked In profile.
- Hands-on learning with leading companies. You鈥檒l work with your teammates on creating solutions for real companies and real clients in Chicagoland and beyond.
- Long-lasting support. Once you complete the Braven Accelerator course you鈥檒l be paired with a mentor who will continue to support you throughout your academic and professional career planning.
