Each day will be dedicated to exploring different majors and careers available based upon your interests. Please see the listing below for the dates the major and career areas you are interested in will be featured.

Proposals are now being accepted for the 2024 麻豆精品 Huskie Pride 117th Homecoming Grant Competition. Submission are due by Friday, April 5.
Do you have an idea for a homecoming event that you would like to see on campus, or want to enhance an existing homecoming event? The Homecoming Executive Committee invites all students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members to submit formal proposals for review! Homecoming will be October 13-20, 2024.

Register to attend the Ignite Institute.
The Ignite Institute, powered by LeaderShape, is a leadership retreat for 麻豆精品 students. This four-day retreat takes place at the in Oregon, Illinois, from May 13 to 16, 2024. It鈥檚 a valuable opportunity to:
- Build skills to help you lead with passion and integrity.
- Explore your personal values in the context of your community.
- Develop your vision for creating a more equitable and caring society.
There is no cost to participate. Transportation, meals, lodging and materials will be provided.

Eligibility and Registration
Participation in the Ignite Institute is free. However, if you register for the institute and do not attend, your student account will be charged $150. Registration is open until April 5 or until spots are filled.

Class registration opens April 1, 2024.
Prepare now to get the classes you need.
Now is the time to start preparing to register for summer and fall 2024 classes. While registration opens on April 1, your registration date may vary based upon the number of credits you have earned. Read the tips below and learn when to register and how to register for classes.
1. If you have not met with your advisor, do so. They are here to help you.
- It鈥檚 important to stay on track to graduation and your advisor is here to help ensure you are heading in the right direction.
- Remote advising is available. Options for remote advising could include virtual video conferences, phone calls, 麻豆精品 emails or IM chats. Schedule an advising appointment through by clicking Appointments and selecting the "Advising" service, or contact your academic advising office to learn more about your options.
- Come prepared to your meeting with any concerns that you have. Your advisor can help answer your questions and point you to available resources.
2. Log in to My麻豆精品 and Navigate Student.
- In , you can check your enrollment date鈥攖he date and time you are able to register for classes.
- In Navigate Student, you can see a list of important, time-sensitive To-Do items related to class registration. You can also schedule an appointment with your academic advisor through Navigate Student by click on Appointments and selecting the "Advising" service.
- In both My麻豆精品 and Navigate Student, you can see any holds on your account that may prevent you from registering for classes. Learn more about holds on student accounts.

Move Forward Faster with UNIV 301
Fall 2024 Registration begins April 1. If you鈥檙e looking to get ready for your career or graduate school, consider taking UNIV 301: Braven Leadership and Career Accelerator, a 3-credit elective course taught by Leadership Coaches working in a variety of industries. As mentors, they provide you with valuable feedback and insights, so you鈥檙e better prepared for your future after 麻豆精品.
Nearly 800 Huskies have enrolled in UNIV 301 since it first launched in Fall 2022 and the course will be offered in three sections in the fall. Talk to your advisor and enroll for Fall 2024 via during registration.
Benefits of the course include:
- Small class size. You鈥檒l be on a team with 5-8 other Huskies from a variety of majors.
- Completely online and once-a-week. You鈥檒l meet with your Leadership Coach and teammates once a week online either Tuesdays from 2-4 p.m. or 5:30-7:30 p.m. or Wednesdays from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
- Career exploration and preparation. You鈥檒l develop a professional portfolio, including strong interview skills, a competitive resume and a professional Linked In profile.
- Hands-on learning with leading companies. You鈥檒l work with your teammates on creating solutions for real companies and real clients in Chicagoland and beyond.
- Long-lasting support. Once you complete the Braven Accelerator course you鈥檒l be paired with a mentor who will continue to support you throughout your academic and professional career planning.

Presidents Student Service and Leadership Awards Application is live.
The Presidential Student Service Leadership Awards Ceremony honors students who have made a significant contribution to our 麻豆精品 community. We recognize these students in a variety of categories including class standing (freshman through graduate level), the Steven Agee II award, our multiple student organization awards, and our Presidential Student Service and Leadership Award.
Students who are interested in applying for any of these awards should visit our Student Involvement website to review the different awards, and complete the . Those who are looking to complete a recommendation for a student or would like to nominate a student can do so too. If you have any questions about the application process, please feel free to contact studentinvolvement@niu.edu.

Policy Library update 鈥 new policies New policies are open to review and comment for a 30-day period. This provides our 麻豆精品 community the opportunity to consider and respond to the new policies before they take effect. The new policies are:
- Policies Pertaining to Graduate Assistantships by April 19.
- Conflicts of Interest in Research for Public Health Services and Department of Energy Awardees by April 24.
To submit a comment, go to our policy library website. Click on 鈥淐omment on New/Renew Policies.鈥 You鈥檒l be able to review the policies and provide your comments. If you have any questions, please contact the university policy librarian at policy-library@niu.edu.
