DoIT to update information security practices.
|
Over the coming year, the Office of Information Security and Division of Information Technology will make changes to align with best practices, be compliant with regulatory and insurance policies, and ensure a more secure environment. The first change in the coming year is to remove the exemption from multifactor authentication (MFA) on campus.
Currently, we enforce MFA for all connections that do not initiate on campus. The lack of MFA for all connections has been identified by our cyber insurance provider, our outside auditors and our security consultants as a severe weakness and does not meet best practices or standards/regulations.
To fix this gap in our security, we will begin enforcing MFA for off- and on-campus-initiated connections after winter break. All the requirements we have currently will be the same (30-day 鈥渞emember me鈥 cycle, use of our MFA solution, etc.) and things will not look different from anything you do now. You will not have to answer an MFA request more often than you do now but you will be asked to answer a request regardless of location.
If you have any questions, please contact the Division of Information Technology.

鈥淭he experiences through Braven have been great. The United event at Willis Tower was incredible 鈥 just being in a professional environment and being able to talk to professionals in the field I want to go into. Learning networking skills was huge as well. I love this course.鈥 - Haley Heckermann, management major and current UNIV 301/Braven student.
鈥淥ne of the best things about Braven is the leadership coaches. We have a person who works at Microsoft and another person who works at a big company. Having regular one-on-one meetings and being able to bounce ideas off them is something I'm definitely taking advantage of.鈥 - Kevin Dela Paz, computer science major and current UNIV 301/Braven student.

"My favorite spot on campus is the library or music library. My mom is a librarian, so I鈥檝e always loved libraries. The feeling of being surrounded by books and others actually working motivates me to work hard. If I need to get something important done, I go to the library."

"Easy advice to dispense, but harder to live: Try to have more fun. College is so expensive, and the world is so stressful, that one of the things that saddens me about our students (and I suspect this is true at many places, not just 麻豆精品) is that many of them don't seem to enjoy college anymore. They go to classes and do the work, but I don't see nearly as much joy as I used to."

Ways to Eat Healthy on a Budget as a College Student
|
Eating healthy for college students can be difficult, especially with the price of groceries. Being mindful about how much you鈥檙e spending on food can seem impossible. Between busy schedules and grabbing something fast in between classes, and late-night food runs with friends on the weekend, it can be difficult to maintain a healthy balanced diet as a college student.
