Mavis Staples Concert at Egyptian Theatre on Feb. 3.
The Âé¶¹¾«Æ· Concert Choir and Âé¶¹¾«Æ· Black Choir will have the unique and exciting opportunity to perform on the same stage as music legend Mavis Staples as part of her concert, Feb. 3 at 8 p.m. at DeKalb’s Egyptian Theatre.
A limited number of free tickets are available to Âé¶¹¾«Æ· students who can pick them up at the Welcome Desk in the Holmes Student Center. about the upcoming Mavis Staples concert.

Comedians Devon Walker and Michael Longfellow perform Feb. 8
Âé¶¹¾«Æ· is hosting a comedy show with current "Saturday Night Live" cast members and comedians Devon Walker and Michael Longfellow, Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in Boutell Memorial Concert Hall in the Music Building. The show is FREE and exclusively for Âé¶¹¾«Æ· students! Students can reserve up to two tickets online at . Reserve your tickets now before it "sells" out. The performance is presented by the Âé¶¹¾«Æ· Arts and Culture Fee.

The Division of Enrollment Management, Marketing and Communications (EMMC) is rolling out new email templates for official university announcements. The updated templates are mobile responsive and are designed to give recipients a better understanding of which division, department or office is sending the communication. Below are examples of the new templates that you will be seeing in your mailbox soon.

Looking for an internship of job? The is on Wednesday, Feb. 15 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at Âé¶¹¾«Æ·'s Convocation Center. To help you prepare, Career Services is hosting a leading up to the fair, including sessions on how to prepare you resume and tips for networking successfully with professionals.

The MyÂé¶¹¾«Æ· Student System will be unavailable on Saturday, Feb. 4, from 6 to 10 a.m. due to system maintenance.
Ellington's Restaurant reopens Feb. 14.
Huskies, be sure to mark your calendar! Ellington’s Restaurant will reopen its doors Tuesday, Feb. 14. Our hospitality and tourism management students will once again be able to showcase their culinary skills as they prepare new and exciting lunch buffets that you, your friends and your colleagues will be sure to enjoy. Service will take place every Tuesday through April 25 with the exception of March 14. When available, menus will be uploaded to the Ellington’s website. We thank you in advance for your continued support as our students gain hands-on experience. No reservations required. Dining Dollars, Huskies Bucks, and debit/credit accepted.
Âé¶¹¾«Æ· Recreation offering free Huskie Fresh cooking classes this semester.
Join Âé¶¹¾«Æ·â€™s Nutrition Team for beginner-friendly, hands-on cooking classes featuring different Huskie Fresh recipes. Cooking classes take place on the following dates in Wirtz Hall:
14 — Valentine’s Cooking Class: Strawberry-filled chocolate cupcakes.
21 — Mindful Cooking Class: Chicken caprese pasta.
March 6 — Huskie Fresh Cooking Class: Chicken fajita skillet.
April 24 — Huskie Fresh Cooking Class: Southwest chili mac.

Policy Library updated with new policy.
A new policy is open to review and comment for a 30-day period. This provides the Âé¶¹¾«Æ· community the opportunity to consider and respond to the revised policies before they take effect. The policy is:

You will be able to review the policy and provide your comments. All comments are due by Thursday, Feb. 23. MyScholarships application deadline is tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 31.
is Âé¶¹¾«Æ·'s campus-wide scholarship application system that allows you to apply for multiple competitive scholarships. These scholarships are usually awarded for the following academic year. Some scholarships may have later deadlines, however, you are encouraged to complete a general application prior to Jan. 31 each year to be considered for the majority of Âé¶¹¾«Æ· scholarships.

Is it normal to have panic attacks? What causes anxiety and how to manage it
Anxiety is a normal phenomenon; it’s something we all experience at some point in our lives. Most of us feel a little anxious from time to time, but when we break out in a cold sweat, our heart starts pounding, and we feel like we can’t breathe, it can seem like something is really wrong. These symptoms might signal a panic attack, but the good news is there are things you can do to reduce how bad they feel—and in some cases, even stop them in their tracks before they happen.
