Purpose

To ensure that budget and project changes on sponsored awards are managed in accordance with award terms and conditions.

Intended Audience

• Principal Investigators
• Directors, department chairs, division heads
• Departmental/divisional business administrators
• Finance and Accounting
• Sponsored Programs Administration

Policy

All project and budget changes must be reviewed by SPA before implementation. SPA will determine whether sponsor notification or prior sponsor approval is required and will submit sponsor requests on behalf of the Principal Investigator (PI). Changes requiring sponsor approval may not be implemented until approval is received.
