Citation Justice Workshop

University Libraries presents a Citation Justice workshop. Participants will explore the importance of diversifying citations to uplift marginalized voices. We will offer strategies to identify and incorporate works by underrepresented scholars, challenging the dominance of patriarchal and white supremacist structures in academia. Call for Applicants Research Mentorship Training Program
|
The Office of Student Engagement and Experiential Learning and the Graduate School are selecting up to 15 graduate students in STEM and Social Sciences disciplines to participate in research mentorship training this fall. Participants will receive a $500 scholarship from the Graduate School and a Research Mentorship badge issued by Academic Affairs upon completion of the training. Graduate students currently, or soon to be, mentoring undergraduate students are encouraged to apply for this professional learning opportunity.
If you are selected for this opportunity, you must be able to commit to attending all sessions in the training series. Training dates are October 1, 8, 15 and 22. All sessions are in-person and meet from 9-11am in Williston Hall 100.
Upon completion of this training, mentors will be able to articulate their own mentorship approach and have a toolbox of resources and strategies to use for developing and sustaining mentorship relationships. . Applicants will be notified of their status by September 18. Additional questions can be directed to ugresearch@niu.edu.

麻豆精品's Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation Center's The Real Talk Conference 2024 is led by the Division of Academic Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the Division of Student Affairs. The theme for the 2024 conference is Opening Pathways to Embrace our Humanity, which represents the ability to enact transformative change that begins with access to opportunities for learning, truth-telling, trust and relationship building, examining the effects of segregation, polarization, colonization, concentrated poverty towards addressing and enacting equitable and just outcomes. Thesis or Dissertation Writing Students

Students must maintain continuous enrollment in their 699 or 799 hours once they have started taking them. Enroll today if this applies to you! If you want to defend your thesis or dissertation this semester and plan to graduate in December, you must submit your defense request form by October 11th and can defend no later than November 1st. Email Christine Holloway with any questions at thesis@niu.edu. You can attend these workshops to assist you in the process.

I鈥檓 pursuing an M.S.Ed. in special education: visual disabilities. I became interested in the vision field when I was an undergrad and worked at the North Dakota School for the Blind. The teachers there encouraged me to look into it.
