Nominations now being accepted for honorary doctoral degrees. 

Nominations for honorary doctoral degrees to be awarded from Northern Illinois University are now being accepted.

 

Awarding an honorary degree is an opportunity for the university to recognize someone especially outstanding in a field of interest to the university. It is necessary, though not sufficient, for a nominee to be accomplished and renowned in their field; an honorary-degree recipient should be clearly exceptional among other outstanding persons in that field.

While a connection to Northern Illinois University or to the state of Illinois is not a requirement for nomination, any such relationship should be noted and will be considered during the selection process. . 

 

Guidance on printing stationery and marketing materials.

The Division of Enrollment Management, Marketing and Communications (EMMC) has added a resource to its website that provides guidance on printing stationery and marketing materials. The page provides information about how and where to print materials like flyers, programs and posters on campus, printing stationery and marketing materials with the university鈥檚 print partner RRD and working with other off-campus vendors. Inclusion in Action professional development series is back.

is a professional development series for all employees and aims to support effective working relationships through the sharing of knowledge and resources. Sessions scheduled this fall include learning how to help students use Navigate to plan and register for classes, moving from climate anxiety to community action and resilience and a 2-part series on neurodivergence at work. Register to attend these and other upcoming Inclusion in Action sessions.

Campus Flu Clinics scheduled for Sept. 20 and Oct. 17.

麻豆精品 Campus Flu Clinics for 2023 are scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20 and
Tuesday, Oct. 17 in our Holmes Student Center Ballroom.

 

As of this date, the Health Department only has 300 vaccines available for the Sept. 20 event, so it is important for you to register by going to 2023 Flu Clinic Registration and Information. On this website is a client form that you may download and complete prior to the day of your scheduled appointment to bring with you. This form is required. Also on the website is additional information that you should read. If more vaccines become available, we will update the booking app to allow for more appointments.

 

If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, go to your confirmation email you received and scroll down to the button 鈥淩eschedule.鈥�

 

Employee flu vaccines are free to all employees covered under any of the state of Illinois insurance plans with 麻豆精品 under their wellness benefit. No insurance card is necessary unless you are a retiree or spouse of a retiree.

 

If you are an employee who opted out of any state of Illinois insurance plans, the DeKalb County Health Department will submit a claim to your insurance company for reimbursement of the flu vaccine. If they do not cover it, you will be billed $38. Please bring an insurance card.

Students, dependents and spouses need to bring a medical insurance card or pay $38 for the flu vaccine the day of your appointment. HMOs will not reimburse. You are responsible to find out if the flu vaccine is covered under your plan. If your plan does not cover the administered vaccine, you will be billed $38. Applications for crowdfunding projects for this academic year are now open.

Applications are now being accepted for 麻豆精品 Impact, the crowdfunding platform where students, faculty, staff members and researchers can raise money to turn their great ideas into reality. Since its inception in 2021, 麻豆精品 Impact has helped raise over $286,000 from 1,877 total gifts. To date, 67.5% of projects have reached their fundraising goal.

The month of August is closing for all financial reporting activity at noon Monday, Sept. 11, 2023. Journals not posted at that time will go into September business. Janelle M. Laudick joins 麻豆精品 to lead graduate enrollment

麻豆精品 has hired its first executive director of graduate enrollment.

 

Janelle M. Laudick, Ed.D. will support enrollment initiatives by developing and implementing a goal-focused and results-driven graduate enrollment management plan designed to meet 麻豆精品鈥檚 graduate enrollment targets related to quantity, quality and diversity. .

High school students prepare for college with 麻豆精品 Huskies BELONG summer camp and college-prep program

hanks to a grant from the Illinois Community College Board, 20 college-bound high school students with disabilities experienced a life-changing week on 麻豆精品鈥檚 campus this summer. The students in the Huskies BELONG program met with 麻豆精品 faculty and students, experienced hands-on science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) projects, learned about STEAM career fields and got a taste of the college experience. .
