Human Resource Services introduces new Training and Employee Development web page.
Human Resource Services is now offering a . This new resource contains on-demand recorded videos and tutorials for faculty, staff and supervisors to enhance their skills, learn new tips and find resources to make 麻豆精品 the best place to work. The page will be added to as often as new topics become available. Human Resource Services will also be partnering with other departments and resources on campus to supply contact information and links to other training opportunities. Check out the site regularly for new content or to refresh yourself on topics of interest. Any questions about the site can be directed to HumanResources@niu.edu.
New programs to recognize and support faculty who cut costs for course materials.
The Course Materials Affordability Task Force (CMAT) is pleased to announce two new programs, sponsored by 麻豆精品 Libraries, to encourage academic departments and faculty to transition to low-cost (total materials cost of under $40) or zero-cost materials in their courses. The ACM Awards recognize departments offering the highest percentage of course sections using low- or zero-cost course materials in the academic year with acknowledgment on 麻豆精品鈥檚 Open Education website and a financial award. Additionally, individual faculty who consistently offer courses designated in My麻豆精品 as requiring low- or zero-cost materials will also be recognized.
The ACM Integration Cohort will focus on converting existing courses to low-cost or zero-cost course materials courses. Participants will learn how to locate, evaluate and integrate affordable course materials with support from CITL staff and subject specialist librarians, and will receive a $500 stipend upon completion of program requirements. All full-time and adjunct teaching faculty are eligible to apply, but the number of participants will be limited based on funding.

Dobbs v. Jackson Women鈥檚 Health: Understanding the Consequences of Overturning Roe v. Wade (Panel Discussion)

The Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women鈥檚 Health Organization will have long-term effects on reproductive health care and economic opportunities, especially for women. The decision has also led to concern about other long-standing rights like sexual liberty, access to contraception and same-sex marriage. Faculty experts from 麻豆精品 will talk about the legal and practical implications of the Dobbs decision, the potential precedent for other Supreme Court cases, and the differential impact this decision will have on diverse populations. .

The month of August is closing for all financial reporting activity at noon Friday, Sept. 9, 2022. Journals not posted at that time will go into September business.
