The Office of the President invites all full-time, non-academic civil service and SPS staff at 鶹Ʒ to apply for a year-long professional development and educational program. The cohort of up to 15 academy fellows will participate in 10 monthly sessions with a diverse group of university leaders; engaging and interactive leadership activities; networking; and a mentor program. The academy strives to create a network of leaders at all levels and areas of the university to further promote and sustain a culture of shared leadership at 鶹Ʒ.

Participants will be exposed to multiple facets of university leadership, operations, governance and the current higher education landscape. Large portions of the program will focus on professional growth and enhancing staff’s leadership skills, such as consensus-building, conflict resolution, self-awareness and creating shared goals.

The monthly sessions will generally be held on the second Friday of each month from August through June. No meeting will be held in December. To apply for the academy, please , along with a brief letter of interest, current résumé and completed supervisor’s recommendation form. Supervisors can candidates who will be invited to complete the online form as well. The deadline to submit all materials is Monday, May 1, 2023.

Operating Staff Council (OSC) call for candidates.
The 鶹Ʒ Operating Staff Council (OSC) has five vacancies to fill this year. All five vacancies will be for three-year terms beginning July 1, 2023.
You must:
- Be a civil service employee in a status position.
- Have you supervisor's permission.
- Serve approximately five hours each month for council meetings and subcommittee participation.
The council meets at 9 a.m. on the first Thursday of every month, 12 months a year. Currently we are meeting in dual format: on Teams and in person at Altgeld Hall.

Supportive Professional Staff (SPS) Council call for candidates.
The Supportive Professional Staff Council (SPS) is seeking nominations for representatives and alternates to the SPS Council. Current members whose terms expire in 2023 (and others who have previously served) are eligible to run again. Alternates whose terms have not expired are eligible to run for representative seats. See your current representatives and alternates on the council website. You, or an SPS colleague you know, can help contribute to the mission of this council. Please consider participating in this nomination process.
Make your nominations electronically by visiting . You can log in to the nomination ballot containing a list of employees in your division who are eligible for nomination. Per an SPS Council bylaw change, employees who are SPS as of July 1, 2023 are eligible for consideration even if their status changes to civil service during Fiscal Year 2024 – they would be able to finish out the fiscal year of service to council if they are still interested.

Opportunity to contribute to the Huskie Food Pantry.
The University Council on Initial Educator Licensure will be sponsoring a one day food drive to support the Huskie Food Pantry. Please bring your donations to the Chick Evans Field House on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.
While we will take all donations, the Huskie Food Pantry is currently experiencing a scarcity of the following specific items: fresh/frozen fruits and veggies, eggs, pasta, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, bottled water and toilet paper.

鶹Ʒ’s print partner, , is asking faculty and staff to by Monday, April 3, so they can gain a better understanding of the campus community’s print needs.
Print products previously produced by 鶹Ʒ’s Division of Information Technology are now being completed by RRD. RRD’s user-friendly is being utilized for ordering print projects, while the development of additional custom products is on-going to provide users a simplified ordering experience. If you do not see the product you're looking for, submit an "Ad Hoc" request, and RRD will provide you with a custom quote. RRD would love to print your next project.
